Biography

Yutaka Majima received bachelor’s degree and doctor of engineering degree from Tokyo Institute of Technology (Tokyo Tech) in 1987 and 1992, respectively. He worked at Research and Development center, Toshiba Corporation from 1992 to 1996, and was Research Scientist at Toshiba Corporation in 1996. He was Research Associate at Tokyo Tech of Technology from 1996 to 1998, was Associate Professor at Department of Physical Electronics, Tokyo Tech from 1998 to 2009, and is now Professor at Materials and Structures Laboratory, Tokyo Tech. He also held the post of Senior Specialist for Nanotechnology Research Promotion in Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology (MEXT), Government of Japan from 2002 to 2004. He is also the Chief Adjunct Professor, Department of Printed Electronics Engineering, Sunchon National University from 2009. His major research fields concerns on the molecular devices, organic electronics, and scanning probe microscopy. He was PRESTO researcher at Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) from 2000 to 2003, the research director of SORST-JST project from 2003 to 2007, and is now the research director of CREST-JST project from 2008. He was awarded 13th Japan Society of Applied Physics prize for original paper in 1991, Tokyo Tech Award for Challenging Research in 2002, Tokyo Tech Best Educational Award in 2009. He is a member of the Japan Society of Applied Physics, the Institute of Electronics, the Information and Communication Engineers, Institute of Electrical Engineers in Japan, the Chemical Society of Japan, and the Material Research Society in US.
